Production / Build Management
The Crashed Car Showroom was an initiative by NRMA to showcase the company's commitment to road safety. A car showroom was built in a former Volvo dealership on York St, Sydney, where a range of crashed cars were displayed to showcase various safety features. The space included a VR crash test simulator designed and built into a Holden Commodore which utilised Oculus Rift and custom hydraulics to simulate the variances in a crash in a new Commodore vs. a 1980s model. Other activities included a fully dissected Peugeot 508 which showed the cars' safety features into the chassis, a custom built 'hail gun' and projection mapped content displayed onto a Ford Focus. The project was a huge success, with a nomination for a Cannes Innovation Lion and a run at Sydney's Royal Easter Show where it was awarded Best In Show. |
